I just wanted to update you on this topic. We are working towards adding a new database format in the next major release of STAAD.Pro. Whilst we are going to focus on shapes typically associated with hot rolled sections, the framework will be extended in future to add cold formed sections which will include HAT profiles.

Thank you for providing the spreadsheet, but again I would like to understand where the profiles are manufactured and what determines the sizes? Are these provided in a publication? If so then please share this and we can look to adding a database. Or are you suggesting that they are manufactured with any dimension, so you are looking for a tool to define the shape parametrically which we provide for other shapes in the Section Wizard module, called Freesketch e.g.

Thanks for replying. Kindly see the pic attached below, where we have a hat section with lips. a) straight lips b) lips inclined at 45degree... And we were able to generate the parameters for Hat section ( in excel attached) maybe it will help to work for "Hat section with Lips". Thanks

Thank you for posting this idea. However, perhaps you can be more specific and clarify if you are referring to profiles from a particular publication. If not, then are you looking to define them parametrically? If parametrically defined, then perhaps you can share a typical example.
