Steel Auto-Drafter draws member releases with a 20mm offset by default. The user would like to set this offset distance to an arbitrary distance.
Additionally, the user would like to set separate distances for each of the following members:
Member release, Truss member, other members
For example, released beams are 10mm, truss braces are 20mm, and so on.
This will help the user to get drawings with their customized clearance values and no manual edition in CAD is required.
Thank you for the clarification. Yes, we can add an item into the backlog to allow configuration of the gaps between objects detailed in the drawings to be specified in the Drawing Style Manager

The gaps are not the same on all connections. Basically, as you say, different values need to be set for each member type below.
beams-columns, secondary beam onto primary beam, bracing members, etc.
To achieve this, we believe the program can determine from the member specification.
Secondary beam:Member release
Bracing members:Truss member(Tension member)

Thank you for your comment. What I am looking to clarify is how any modification can provide the most value. The problem that has been identified that this would address is that although the drawings are created with a gap between beams and columns, on many situations, you have to manually change this gap and that can take a long time as it has to be done on many junctions. If it was a user configuration value, then the user can set it once and all the junctions would have the same value, 10mm, 20mm or whatever they wanted. Thus it will save hours of work as there can be 100s of such connections on each model. My follow up question however, are the gaps the same on all connections? Or should there be different values for different types of connection, e.g. 10mm for beams-columns, 20mm for secondary beam onto primary beam, 30mm for bracing members, etc?
The clearance between beams and columns is almost always not 20mm.
Generally, it is often 10mm.
Therefore, after exporting the CAD file, all connections require editing in CAD.
In particular, diagonal braces are difficult to edit.
If this feature is added, it will save a lot of time.
Competing software is already strengthening CAD file output.
It is one of the necessary features for STAAD to win the competition.
This is not really an idea. What is the problem that this is trying to solve?
When drawing, the offset distance is not an actual value, but some value (e.g., 100 mm).
If this is possible, it would be very convenient.
