Printing joint forces in STAAD

A print command such as "PRINT JOINT FORCES LIST 1 2 3 etc." that would output all the member end forces at a specified node, for the specified load cases. This is currently possible using macros/openSTAAD, but would be very helpful if added to the main program.

When designing connections that involve multiple members framing into one joint, obtaining all the member end forces at a specific joint with the correct sign convention is critical. Without this command, the user is required to manually review beam forces in post processing and select the end forces in each beam that frame into a node one at a time.

Thank you for posting this idea. If you are asking for a new command, that suggests you want this as something that would be reported in the output file. To make use of it then in some external connection design solution, then this would require searching through the output and extracting the data in a manual way. So a better way would be to have it in the GUI in a way that is more meaningful. Well that exist already in the Connection Design workflow. Create a connection and this gets populated with the forces data from the load cases for the design:-

Alternatively as you say, it is possible to create user tables using OpenSTAAD. These can be configured any way you would like such as here a table created for showing the end forces on physical members:-
