Add a default section and material to be used as a rigid member in lieu of OFFSET. Make sure that profile and material are bein created in such way that the deflection of rigid member is as less as it can be without any warning.
Thank you for posting your idea. However, I would say that the capability exists already. If you use Control/Dependant assignment. I.e. One node is the control and the other is the dependant, this will act as a rigid connection without release.
