Thank you for posting this idea. What is clear is that when a panel is created, if it has nodes along a boundary. This functionality already exists if using the Parametric Meshing tool and the Boundary connectivity is set either to None In which only boundary nodes will be created or Optimise in which it will try to only use the boundary nodes, unless the plates are too big, and only then sub-divide.
