Dear Bentley Team,
I am writing to request the implementation of the following features in STAAD Foundation Advanced 2024 to significantly improve the isolated footing modeling workflow:
Direct Subgrade Modulus Assignment: Enable the direct assignment of the subgrade modulus to the footing without requiring a superstructure connection. This is essential for efficient modeling of independent isolated footings.
Pedestal Modeling Capability: Incorporate the ability to model footing pedestals, allowing for complete definition of the foundation geometry within the program.
These enhancements would streamline the design process, reduce reliance on workarounds, and improve the accuracy of isolated footing designs.
A subgrade modulus can already be specified when you specify the properties of the soil beneath the footing. Regardless, what do you think should we do with a subgrade modulus for an isolated footing that is analyzed using the rigid method? We can understand it being used to compute the soil spring stiffness if it is solved using the FE method.
