Although the current version of SFA 2024 allows users to view the proposed reinforcement using the Detailing option and take a manual screenshot from the Report tab to include it in the report, this image must be added manually and can only be placed at the beginning or end of each foundation report. Additionally, the material summary available under Bill of Quantity > Summary offers limited information and does not include key data such as spacing, total number of rebars, or steel area per linear meter.
To improve usability, automation, and clarity for users, the following updates are proposed:
Automate the inclusion of the reinforcement view directly into the report, as was the case in SFA version 9, where the image was automatically updated and embedded in the report whenever the foundation design was modified.
This would eliminate the need for manual screenshots and ensure the reinforcement image is always up to date.
Implement a more detailed plan view diagram that graphically displays:
Exact placement of reinforcement bars
Layout and distribution within the foundation
Rebar marks or identification
Expand the existing output tables to include essential reinforcement data:
Rebar diameter
Spacing between rebars
Total number of rebars
Steel area per linear meter
These enhancements would help reduce manual effort, minimize errors, and provide more complete and transparent documentation—especially valuable for construction drawings and technical reviews.
