Thank you for your idea. However, can you add a little clarity on the requirement. Are you referring to the method used to display 3D sections on the wire frame model (ie. full section or section outline) or generate a window with the rendered 3D view? The later can be triggered by pressing the spacebar to display the Quick Commands panel and the rendered 3D view is right there.
