The requirement of Ax and Ay data is necessary when a profile is created using the General Section option. This option was available in STAAD.Pro 2022 and earlier versions. However, the same option is not available in STAAD.Pro 2023, STAAD.Pro 2024, and STAAD.Pro 2025.

These parameters are very essential for our work. For example, Ax and Ay are automatically calculated by STAAD.Pro when a section is selected from the Wide Flange section table. Similarly, just as STAAD calculates Ax and Ay for sections selected from the Wide Flange table, the software could also calculate Ax and Ay automatically for sections created under the General Section option.

If these values are code-based, STAAD may provide an additional option for the user to select the relevant design code, so that the software can automatically calculate the required values.
