At present design of double channel in STAAD as per IS800 LSD is having certain work flow. It assumes higher MI as a major axis even if it can be about minor axis Y which is not correct. STAAD should consider section orientation as provided by user and should not swap the major and minor axis. As long as the distance between two channels is zero or very less MI about Z is more than MI about Y. But if the distance between two sections is increased beyond certain value , MI about Y will become more compared to MI about Z axis. In STAAD design algorithm , it should not change the axis. Support team acknowledged this shortcoming and asked me to write on STAAD Ideas portal. I hope development team will consider it and correct the design work flow. My service request no is Case CS0345230
