Sometimes we have to share our models to clients/vendors, and we wish to set a layer of protection on the staad file, such as a password that the user have to enter everytime they try to launch the file. I think it helps to protect corporate and personal IPs and would be a good feature to have.
Thank you for posting this idea. Am I right in the proposal being to add the option to password protect a STAAD model/results set? Meaning that if this is set, the GUI will still be able to open and display the data, but all the actions that modify the data and save any modifications are disabled? What would you say to taking pictures and creating a user report I assume that even with the password protection in place, these can still be performed.
