How can buckling-restrained braced frames (BRBFs) be modeled in STAAD.Pro for retrofit analysis? Which properties or parameters need to be modified in the model to accurately represent the behavior of BRBs?
Thank you for posting your idea. However you have asked a question rather than suggested an idea. Saying that this can be converted to a suggested idea to allow STAAD.Pro to handle buckling restrained braced frames. This is a non-linear problem due to the yield characteristic of the buckling braces. STAAD.Pro does not handle this probelm directly, but this is very much in the wheelhouse of ADINA. As you may know STAAD.Pro can export the model to ADINA, so the solution is available there.
