Many nonstructural components use structural steel frames, such as equipment supports and pipe supports. These are designed to AISC rules but use the ASCE 7 Chapter 13 seismic design force instead of the Chapter 12 Equivalent Lateral Force procedure. STAAD does not have this type of seismic load definition. Adding this definition would allow STAAD to be used for the design of many other structural components.

Please add the nonstructural component seismic design force as a STAAD seismic load definition, with options for different editions of ASCE 7. The seismic design force equation for nonstructural components in the ASCE 7-22 edition differs from previous editions.
