    Hello,

Please find attached files which belong to my previous idea about Buckling analysisi in the standard Staad.Pro.

There are also new recommendations, so if you find it appropriate, you can also give it as a new idea.

I hope that the results of the calculations and the resulting conclusions will be useful and stimulating for you.

    Kind regards,

    Duan ZICH

The idea added to the backlog is to provide an enhanced output for the basic buckling analysis to report the reduction percentage on each member from the last iteration of the basic buckling analysis.
The suggested output table being four columns, Member, Initial Axial Load (from 1st iteration), Final Axial Load (from last successful iteration), Reduction (from last successful iteration)

    e.g.

Member Initial Axial Load, Final Axial Load, Reduction

    100 10kN 55kN 20%

    ...

Please note however that the displacement diagrams indicate the displacement resulting from the last successful iteration. Any members approaching buckling can be seen to have greatly exaggerated displacements and those that have been removed (i.e. buckled) from the drawing and report in the Beam Relative Displacement Table as 'nan'

Thank you for posting this idea. As I see you appreciate that the purpose of providing a buckling analysis in the Standard STAAD.Pro solution is to allow the engineer to quickly verify that the model has/has not exceed the Euler buckling limit for the structure. If the need is to determine a detailed buckling behaviour, then the Advanced method is required.
